Due to the fact that the earlier VESPA 50cc motors are getting rare, there is hardly a way around to have to fit a newer PK XK2 motor when in need of replacement. If you wish to retain the dual cable gear change system you will require a gear change adaptor kit. We have a kit available that converts the XL one cable mechanism to a more conventional two cable system. The rocker switch mechanism that is at the heart of this conversion is pre-assembled and the only modifications necessary are the two M5 threads that should be cut into the body of the crankcase and you are ready to go! -TIP: Do not forget to include two new gear changing cables with your order.
