At last! There is now a plug and play method to boost the power output of vintage Vespa wideframe models, the ‘Faro Basso’ performance cylinder! The basis was provided by a three-port, cast-iron cylinder with the third transfer-port being sealed off by a specially designed gasket surface spacer. This port is then activated by a third piston port window. A newly configured CNC machined aluminium cylinder head, with an ‘Oring gasket, ensures the raised compression can be safely maintained and is centralised by a special groove on the cylinder. This cylinder fits all 125/150cc wideframe motors without crankcase modification. The 54mm stroke crankshaft included with the 125cc models will require replacement with a 57mm stroke crankshaft. Due to the increased power output we recommend its combination with performance-orientated crankshaft, such as those produced by PINASCO, STOFFI or TAMENI. Cast-iron / 57mm bore / three transfer ports – TIP : To exploit the potential of this cylinder kit we recommend the inclusion of a Road exhaust and an electronic ignition in the set up of your motor.
