TUNING SPORT – high-performance
For race use only. Not admitted in the area of the German StVZO! Product description
The MK IIII version of this evergreen 136cc cylinder kit from MALOSSI, suitable for all Vespa 50-125/PK 50-125, includes an updated piston and cylinder head design. This generation has a piston equipped with two XL port windows, corresponding to the amount of fresh fuel charge the direct-intake, cylinder-mounted carburettor set up can offer. A long-threaded spark plug is necessary. The overall design of the main body of the cylinder is largely identical to that of its predecessor the MK II, with the layout of the boost port, transfer ports and direct-intake being much larger to those found on the original MK I. The increased dimensions are a hint to the increase in power output the new design can provide. This cylinder kit is compatible with both motor and cylinder mounted carburettor manifold systems and a special sealing plate is included if you wish to mount the carburettor onto the motor. Older carburettor manifolds are no longer compatible with this cylinder type, as was already the case with the MK II version. MALOSSI have new special manifolds available to replace them, compatible with both the MK III & MK IIII cylinder types.
Conclusion:
A ‘Plug & Play’ cylinder kit, with hidden potential and a maximal bore diameter of 57.5mm! This cylinder kit can be combined with both disc/reed-valve carburettor systems mounted on the motor, as well as reed-valve systems mounted directly onto the cylinder itself. Absolutely perfect fix for those who get goose-pimples at the very mention of MALOSSI and love the high-rev experience that the cylinder kits they produce are famous for! Cast-iron cylinder, 51mm stroke / 57.5mm bore / 7 transfer ports / 132.43cc Cast-iron cylinder, 51mm stroke, 7 transfer ports, piston includes two 1.5mm thick piston rings, 6mm exhaust outlet studs, an original MALOSSI cylinder head is included, compression ratio – 11.4:1, all necessary gaskets are included in the kit. Prior to use the ignition timing and carburettor jetting should be checked and modified as necessary. This kit is suitable for all Vespa PV/ET-3/PK/XL/XL2 models, apart from the Vespa PK Automatica. To realise the full potential of this performance cylinder kit the port openings on the motor should be matched to those found on the base gasket surface of the new cylinder. A long-threaded spark plug is necessary.
