Would you like the idea of fitting a big bore 200cc cylinder to your ‘small block’ motor No problem! LAMBRETTA tuning legend Tino Sacchi has an extremely tasty item available in the form of the Imola Racing Cylinder. In combination with a 28mm carburettor and an Ancelotti exhaust system the Imola kit produces approximately 18 PS, equivalent to a VESPA T 5 model equipped with an unported MALOSSI 172cc cylinder. Both set ups have a very similar delivery of power. This can of course be (in both cases) improved dramatically with the use of a reed valve manifold, ensuring a greater volume of fuel/air mixture to be available, so enhancing power, especially in the lower end and the middle of the rev. range. The Imola has already at 5500 rpm 12 PS on offer, a value retained till far beyond its maximum power output at 8000 rpm. In short, a comfortably wide delivery of power, which tends to help swallow the bitter pill that the right hand exit carburettor manifold represents. Similar to the TS 1 kit, this means the inevitable removal of the battery tray from the frame so the carburettor assembly can be reliably mounted. Both the Monza and Imola cylinder kits lend themselves ideally to further development in the more performance orientated motor tuning projects. If you think cubes are cool, then you cannot go wrong with along stroke crankshaft on the small block motor to reach 200cc with the added incentive of a possible 20 ps !
Conclusion:
The TS 1 for the small motor convinces with its wide delivery of power and added cubic capacity. Can be used in combination with most small block motor set ups from the more moderate road tunes through to maximum power projects and still performs reliably when set up correctly. Aluminium/ 64mm cylinder bore/ Nicasil lined/ 6 transfer ports/ 2 piston rings High quality aluminium cylinder with six transfer ports, available with a 64mm bore, includes a piston equipped with two piston rings each 1mm thick, suitable cylinder head, reed valve manifold, reed valve assembly to fit, all necessary fixings and gaskets(head gaskets in various thicknesses, base gasket and the manifold gaskets)IMOLA 186cc cylinder and cylinder head, for crankshafts with 107mm rod (LI and GP)
