Product description
The brake arm is the connection between the brake operation cable and the brake camshaft.
On drum brakes that have separate brake cams and brake arms the arm-return mechanism is always attached to these two components. On high-mileage scooters these parts are often worn or aged with ugly corrosion. No compromises are acceptable while servicing the scooters brakes and when there is doubt about a components functionality it should be replaced immediately.
Many Vespa models drum brakes can be easily upgraded with the inclusion of the Vespa T5 brake arm (part no 23579700). The main advantage, in combination with the T5 brake cable, is the possibility to then adjust its operation length without he need for tools due to this cable having an cable adjuster thread at its lower end. Brake camshafts and shoes should be regularly checked and replaced when necessary. To ensure an optimal operation of the brakes the operation cables should be kept in perfect working order and also quickly replaced in case of damage.
New parts as replacements for worn originals.
An upgrade option with authentic Vespa T5 components.
Conclusion
: Small but essential details, always insist on the finest quality components in perfect condition for full braking efficiency!
