Extensive research and development in the two-wheeled sector is not only conducted in the quest for more outright performance, but progress in the braking of these highly-tuned machines is also becoming more relevant. Consequently there are now more fresh ideas and conversions available to all racers, owners and tuners.
The technicians at
ALLIGATOR
have taken the further evolution of frictional braking material to their hearts. The people at
ALLIGATOR
have already earned themselves an excellent reputation as high-end bicycle parts producers and now they have decided to turn their attention and expertise to the motorised single track vehicles. Their latest patented innovative upgrade from run of the mill
brake pads
is their new range of
‘TURBO COOLING’ brake pads
. As their title suggests they incorporate an improved cooling method in the form of specially formed cooling fins on the base plates, which compared to common types, improves the cooling properties by between 25-30 %. The base plate is, contrary to other designs, not constructed using steel. These brake pad base plates are 100 % aluminium, making them 40 % lighter than their steel produced counterparts.
The pads in this range are available with a choice between two separate types of frictional material. The
Semi-sintered pads
are more enduring and perform superbly in both wet and dry road conditions, making them ideal for everyday use.
The
Carbon versions
are extremely durable and remain stable at high temperatures, making them more suitable for high performance machines and/or racing purposes.
SIP – TIP : Prior to initial use it is important to check that the raised profile of the cooling fins on the rear of the brake pads does not come into contact with the rest of the brake mechanism. Use the opportunity of the brake pad replacement to also renew the brake fluid and properly bleed the system for even more efficient braking!
