A carburettor cover with an extremely low profile throttle cable connection, facilitates the mounting and operation of aftermarket carburettors when clearance is limited. It can sometimes occur that a carburettor cannot be fitted or function properly due to a lack of space, especially on vintage scooters. If a larger carburettor is included with a tuned engine this can lead to the durability and function of the carburettor being impaired.

The team at MMW have taken on providing a solution and their ‘U97’ range of carburettor covers are now available to ease mounting when space is limited. The technology The throttle cable is guided over small wheel, located within the carburettor cover, then exits the carburettor at a 90 angle to minimise the height of the carburettor assembly. The connection to the outer throttle cable is rotatable and is fixed in position using two small Allen bolts. These covers are built to last, with a CNC machined aluminium billet construction also creating a real eye-catcher on any scooter! Available for various carburettor types. The range of ‘U97’ carburettor covers cater for various makes and types of carburettor. We have versions available compatible with Dell’Orto, Keihin, Mikuni and Smart carburettors. The throttle cable is redirected in the cover over a relatively narrow radius. In order to ensure optimal function, a highly flexible throttle cable should definitely be installed.
