The DELL’ORTO SHB is THE smallframe carburettor, without comparison. It was factory-fitted to almost all smallframe Vespa models ever produced. Likewise it was also fitted to the 50cc Ape three-wheeler motor. The SHB carburettor has a very logical design and similar to the SI type, requires no needle. It is also relatively easy to set up and adjust, through simple replacement of the main and starter jets with larger or smaller sizes. A SHBC 19.19 carburettor is also part of the MALOSSI reed-valve kit for the Ape 50 ‘Mix’ and helps provide any 75/130cc tuning cylinder with added power. The carburettor itself is also available separately. The kit is rounded off with the inclusion of a reed valve assembly with two openings including a VL 6 petal reed-block. These conversion kits can theoretically be included in the set up of any motor without any modification taking place. However, to fully exploit the potential of a reed valve conversion extensive, irreversible modification (disc valve sealing surface removal and inlet enlargement) must occur. Conclusion : Comprehensive kit with all necessary extras for a reed valve conversion.
