A larger than standard diameter carburettor combined with a performance orientated cylinder kit are essential components in the quest for that which every serious tuner desires : More Speed!! A larger carburettor leads to higher revs, increased performance and consequently, a higher top speed. The TM flatslide carburettor with an individually adjustable fuel accelerator pump, produced by MIKUNI, is a ‘must-have’ component when tuning a four-stroke Vespa motor. Their main advantage over the standard ‘CV’ carburettor type is the directly operated throttle slide, which avoids the sluggish response caused by the internal vacuum operated membrane system. The result is a more direct throttle response combined with a noticeably improved acceleration. Carburettor MIKUNI TM28-1/TM33-12Main jet: 115/127,5; Idle jet 25/37,5; Connection engine: 40mm, connection air filter: 50mm-TIP : Due to the increased overall dimensions of this type of carburettor it will also require the use of a gasket-surface spacer (#MO812267B) and three longer fixing bolts (#PI414838) for correct assembly. The airbox connection will also require modification, or replacement with an external air filter. These carburettors include a manually operated choke mechanism, making the electric choke redundant. The original throttle cable though can still be used.
