TUNING SPORT – high-performance
Product description
Cristian Mazelli is a dedicated Vespa enthusiast and he has been most active on the Italian scooter racing scene for many years. During his time as a racer he was constantly faced with material and part quality problems he deemed as unsuitable for the task in hand. To ease these bottlenecks in supply he decided to use his career-based knowledge of industrial research and development to create parts under his own name that he now markets under the ‘CRIMAZ’ logo. Beautifully detailed solutions combined with very high production quality are the results!

The introduction of CNC machined clutch baskets saw the end of valid complaints about clutch performance problems on largeframe Vespa models. When properly set up there are clutches that can handle over 50 PS with no problems and thanks to a large selection of clutch plate types solutions can be found to suit every motor characteristic. Fortunately for all the tech-freaks unsatisfied motor engineers can still be found. One such individual is called Christian Mazelli, the owner and founder of the
CRIMAZ
tuning company. He has had a few ideas on further improving clutch operation and function for the Vespa largeframe engines.
Christian Mazelli has completely redesigned the
CMX PX clutch
from scratch and the components are all new. The main idea behind this innovation is the effective reversal of the moving parts. This means that the heavy assembled clutch basket no longer rotates on the crankshaft. Instead it is attached to the input shaft through the cog found on the primary-drive, the lighter inner basket is then attached to the crankshaft instead. This set up helps prevent the clutch sticking and jerking.

The
CRIMAZ
clutch-plates have twelve outer tabs, as opposed to the eight found on the original items. The total frictional area has been increased by 33% over the original, which also prolongs its effective durability.
The
CMX
clutch incorporates the earlier Vespa PX type cog and not the COSA type. The removal requires the holding rivets to be removed which attach it to the lower pressure-plate. The freed cog can then be bolted to the clutch basket of the CRIMAZ clutch assembly. All of the components of this kit are extremely well-made and cleanly finished. In fact, this high-end clutch would not look out of place in the living room display-cabinet!

Conclusion :
If you feel the need for a top of the range, high-end clutch that delivers high power combined with the smoothest operation, look no further!

Do not forget to order the suitable peripheral gearbox components from the earlier Vespa PX engine to match!
