There is a wide range of clutches on the market for the Vespa Smallframe. The improvements are not only about the possibility to transmit higher power, it is also about the perfect function and separation behaviour. Unfortunately, some high-end clutches require high manual forces for operation. This can be very annoying in everyday life.

has taken care of this problem. He offers a 5-disc clutch, which not only offers high tuning potential, the design also allows well-tuned engines to be clutched with low manual forces. Due to the 5 discs, the number of springs can be reduced. This results in an extremely easy to “pull” clutch. In combination with an XL2 cover, the clutch can be pulled with one finger. With 6 springs with the little finger. The transmittable engine power remains at a high level:
6 springs up to approx. 28hp – 26Nm
8 springs up to approx. 35hp – 30Nm
The clutch is supplied with a mounted pressure plate. It can also be used with the discs of the PK XL2.

Recommendation
:
The housing seal should not be thicker than 0.2mm when using a Piaggio input shaft. Erich recommends the clutch levers with the small ball at the end, as these allow much more disengagement travel than those with a large ball. This allows the clutch to separate cleanly without much preload. It is best to use 500ml SAE 30 oil.

Caution
:
The nut of the input shaft with washer must not be higher than 7mm and the thread of the input shaft should not be higher than the nut. Please only use ” repair kits” that are bolted from the rear (with repair kits that are bolted from the outside, the bolt heads may protrude on the inner basket).
