The engine casing covers supplied with the later Lambretta series are theoretically compatible with all engines from the series I
III models. It should be considered that the clutch push-rod on the DL/GP models differs slightly from the Lambretta norm by being a little more modern and reliable. It is similar in function and design to that of the largeframe Vespa engines and requires a suitable clutch pressure plate to match. The covers on the series I & II models are differently constructed around the kickstarter shaft on earlier types and the exhaust fixings can also vary.

In the original cover the clutch shaft just rotates in the aluminium cover which causes excess friction, especially when pressure is applied. The friction increases the pressure required to operate the clutch at the handlebar lever. LTH have this engine cover available which has a bearing included, unlike the standard PK clutch cover but similar to the later PK XL2 item. This reduces the friction to a minimum and supplements the inclusion of our ‘Performance’ operation cable sets ideally.
