TUNING RACE – for professionals Product description
The most discreet method of supplying the Vespa carburettor with fresh intake air!

Our reed-valve manifold enables the fitting of drum and flat-slide carburettors to the BFA engine casings in the direction of travel. This allows the inclusion of the ORIGINAL intake air supply tube/intake bellows/rubber air manifold connection (part no 17980300, 179804000), or also the ‘Dumbo’ version from MRP. This results in the carburettor being supplied with air from within the Vespa chassis, time has proven this to be the QUIETEST solution! This method is therefore highly recommended to achieve roadworthiness approval at the vehicle testers.
Technical Specification:
THE quietest air induction method
Suitable for carburettors sized between 28mm and 40mm+
No fuel pump necessary
CNC machined from aluminium billet
Made in Germany
The carburettor manifold is equipped with a 38mm internal diameter. DELLORTO and KEIHIN carburettor connection rubbers ( part no 22301800,-1840,-1850) with 60mm and 70mm spaced fixings can be attached, enabling the combination with all carburettors between 30mm & 40mm. If you are assembling a maximum performance engine and require the largest possible carburettor diameter then the channel can be further modified and enlarged or even gas-flowed to a diameter of over 40mm.
According to the length of the rear shock absorber, the carburettor is angled 25
to the rear from vertical when mounted. With a suitable throttle cable connection routing there is sufficient space for a DELLORTO VHSH 30mm carburettor or similar to be mounted beneath the sidepanel of most Vespa largeframe scooters, such as the vintage Sprint or Rally models. The carburettor is also mounted low enough, in relation to the fuel tank, to function properly without the use of an additional fuel pump.

If the carburettor is supplied with intake air from the frame, the main body of the Vespa chassis serves as a kind of airbox. A sufficient amount of air-pressure from within the Vespa is guaranteed, even at the highest revs, for clarity on the subject we even tested this. The Vespa chassis has enough openings (behind the horncover, seat-hinge, etc.) for a more than adequate supply of fresh, uncontaminated air for the carburettor!

To further dampen the induction noise the chassis interior surrounding the fuel tank can also be lined with sound-absorbent matting, we recommend our audio-insulation mats (part no 22503410, -3420).
