C.C.Corsa of Reggio Emilia in Italy produce the finest Faro Basso tuning components for all fenderlight Vespa engines equipped with a three cylinder holding stud system. This cylinder kit has a reed valve inlet, a modern cylinder head with an effective squish-band and a piston that has proven its enduring qualities in countless APRILIA race motors. This performance cylinder should be combined with a 57mm stroke crankshaft from the Vespa GS and 150cc models. Our Performance #45142400 provides the perfect solution. Alternatively the fitting of a 60/61mm stroke crankshaft, such as the #45089100, enables a capacity increase to 172cc. This conversion requires the use of custom fabricated cylinder base plate spacers and the cylinder head should be machined to match. The six transfer ports have an up-to-date layout combined with a large cross-sectional area, which is kept minimal at the base openings to enable plug and play fitting, without extra material having to be welded to the engine casings. The outlet port is provided with a separate steel flange. There is an extensive scope of relevant peripheral parts included in the delivery with a reed valve and manifold, all bolts and fixings along with a selection of cylinder base gaskets of various thickness to simplify setting up a correct squish-band clearance and port timings. TIP : To fully exploit the potential of this kit we recommend its combination with either a POLINI CP carburettor from 23mm or a DELL’ORTO PHB from 24mm. The perfect complementary extras for enduring use of this kit are provided by the Performance ignition #510026RA and a Road exhaust system. Take care to also fit a sturdy clutch for lasting satisfaction!
Mounting information
: It may be necessary to shorten the piston skirt slightly to fit VM/VN engine casings, according to con rod length/piston stroke.
