The “S” series of Quattrini cylinders is optimised for higher flow through the ports. Using computer simulations and counter-tests on the dyno, the path into and out of the cylinder has been modified to minimise resistance to the gas. Part of this concept is an additional exhaust port that is screwed between the cylinder and the exhaust. This also means that the exhaust is routed around the outside of the shock absorber. Therefore, only exhaust systems specially designed for these cylinders can be used on the “S” series cylinders.
