Valve springs are doing an important job: on condition that the appropriate push rods are used, these springs decide on how the valve will respond to the control commands of the camshaft. If the valve springs are too soft, the dreaded valve float can occur which might result in serious engine damages: grinding of the valve seatings into the cylinder head, damages at the valve shafts and valve collets, valve touching the piston in the worst case!
