Since PIAGGIO decided to include a new speedometer with the face-lifted GTS models introduced in 2014 the water temperature indicator in the old display has been replaced by a warning light to indicate overheating of the motor. Our wiring loom adapter set, when fitted to GTS models produced since 2014, allows the water temperature to be displayed on the left hand column of our SIP Speedometer / Rev Counter. This adapter is connected to our speedometer using the ‘TEMP B’ plug, the cable to the sensor located on the motor then requires routing through the scooters frame. The green plug found on the temperature sensor is provided with two paired attachment possibilities, only one of which is actually used. The two spare positions are occupied by green stability pins, which require prior removal with needle-nose pliers to allow the positioning of the SIP wiring loom adapter. The red cable belongs in pin No. 2, the black cable in pin No. 4. Detailed illustrated instructions for this job are included with our SIP speedometers and can also be downloaded from the article page on our web-shop. SIP ?C TIP: Parallel to the water temperature sensor cable routing job do not forget to also install the oil temperature sensor cable, along with a sensor and suitably sized drain plug (#MV826165). Attention : In order to retain the full guarantee on the SIP Speedometer/Rev-Counter all work, repairs or replacement of the lens cover must either be carried out here at SIP Scootershop or an approved workshop. All other modifications, such as attempting to open the housing invalidates our guarantee!
